Message From Dr. Ritu Chhatwal

The team at Retü Foods has been working feverishly to prepare for our upcoming market debut in Singapore. Our first product is a potent elixir for restoring your gut health made with magical millets (小米). Our line of delicious, dairy-inspired, nutrient-dense, patented foods are packed with active live cultures, prebiotics, micronutrients, and adaptogens.

Thrilled to announce that one of Singapore’s leading retailers has agreed to a ten-store launch featuring their premium outlets. With an additional 30-store commitment within three months of our launch. We have identified a suitable co-manufacturer in Malaysia and are in advanced contractual discussions with them for an initial pilot run and a longer-term commercial manufacturing partnership. We have also secured a distributor for the launch.

Excited to share that we have signed a strategic co-branding agreement with AMILI , Southeast Asia’s first and only precision gut microbiome company. AMILI will conduct a targeted prebiotic assay on our proprietary millet blend by individually incubating the blend in-vitro with AMILI’s in-house library of probiotic strains to quantify the ingredient’s ability to promote the growth of beneficial gut microbes under physiologically relevant conditions simulating that of human gut digestion. They will also evaluate the impact of the blend on the fecal microbiome community from AMILI’s Stool bank. The blend will be subjected to in-vitro upper gut digestion and then incubated with a viable Asian fecal microbial sample. The incubated sample will be extracted for gDNA and sequenced to identify community-level changes in bacterial taxa. This approach enables us to verify whether the targeted prebiotic properties of our food ingredients hold true in complex gut microbiota, as well to identify additional bacteria whose growth is regulated by our food ingredients. Our partnership with AMILI allows us to combine cutting edge-science with ancient wisdom and traditions of both Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurveda.

We have also signed an MoU with Turtle Tree to co-develop a proprietary and exclusive blend of Turtle Tree’s ingredients, including Lactoferrin+, to enhance further our ability to provide category-leading health benefits and nutrition levels that far exceed those of any existing "alternatives" or dairy products. Let food be thy medicine!

Join us in our mission to restore your health and that of the planet while restoring farmer communities impacted by climate change.

Exciting New Flavours

Providing tasty, localized flavours are a cornerstone of our approach to providing products that are familiar and relatable to our customers in APAC and India. We have two separate R&D teams working on flavours. The India-based team works on the flavour profiles for the Indian market while the APAC-based R&D team works on our flavours for APAC. Their untiring efforts have yielded some incredible flavours using clean and real ingredients like Lemongrass & Ginger, Carrot & Pumpkin, Pandang Leaf, Matcha Tea, Mango, Mixed Berries, Lychee, and Cumin (Jal Jeera). At launch our “universal” flavours of Mango, Lychee and Miixed Berries will be paired with two “local” flavours for a 5-pack taste sensation!

Miracle Millets

Millets are a hardy and healthy crop that has been cultivated for several millennia in China, India, and Africa. Today more than 130 countries across the globe cultivate one or more of the hundreds of different varieties of millets. Prior to the “Green Revolution,” millets were responsible for 25% of India’s cereal intake! In Africa, millets were displaced by European colonists who promoted the growing of water intensive crops like corn, wheat and other grains. In China, millets remain a premium grain enjoyed by a broad section of the population particularly in Northern China. The declaration of 2023 as the “Year of Millets” by the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) is timely given the upending of global weather patterns due to climate change and the disruption of grain supplies from Ukraine, Europe’s breadbasket. Our fascination and work with millets began in early 2020, well before the current revival of millets as a healthy, gastronomic, and planet-positive alternative to more common resource-intensive cereals. By unlocking and enhancing the intrinsic nutritional properties of millets via enzymatic fermentation and by our ongoing pioneering research to create millet protein concentrates and isolates, we believe that our millet-based restorative foods will help millions of Asians and Africans achieve sustainable, nutritional food security
